MacBook Buying Guide

Macbooks don't come cheap. So, you should buy the right at the first place when you are about to invest in one.

So, Apple's range of Notebooks are called MacBooks
They come in three versions and they are
  • Macbook
  • Macbook Air
  • Macbook Pro
There might be a dilemma when you are about to buy one if you are into apple laptops for the first time...This post can help you through in making the basic decision

MacBook

  • The MacBook come with the latest and the greatest technology. Every year when Apple releases a new MacBook it makes sure to have the latest and futureproof internals
  • For Example, the New Macbook as of now has the innovative USB Type-C port that provides seamless connectivity such as any accessories through a single port
  • But... The MacBooks are not aimed to provide top tier processors.
  • The Macbook runs on a Mobile Processor from Intel. You can choose from a variety of processors such as the m3, m5, or the m7 processors
  • This is the correct time to add this excellent note that the MacOs can run "EVEN ON A MOBILE PROCESSOR"
  • The Macbook is mostly aimed to provide extreme portabiility while keeping weight in mind Apple has cut down many internals and that comes with a compromise in performance
  • So...You cannot expect the Macbook to do intensive Graphical Processing...It can do them anyway...But not like Pro Models
  • It always comes with the Best in Class wireless connectivity options like the Wireless ac connection
  • When you take a look at the Trackpad below the keyboard woah!! it big!! Really Big!! It even comes with forcetouch
  • The Battery can last for upto 10 Hours...That sounds interesting..Unlike other laptops that you can find in the market the MacBook have long battery and 10 Hours, its really long
  • It may not be as pricy as the Pro...But it is definitely priced higher than the Air Model
  • It is recommended for users who require extreme portability while compromising performance. It is suitable only for stuffs like surfing the web, watching online and offline videos and a few editing tasks

MacBook Air

  • The Macbook Air is the choice that programmers mostly prefer
  • The Macbook Air has the longest Battery life which is upto 12 Hours. So, It as Apple says "It Won't call it a day until you say so"
  • You can choose from the two different processors form Intel(Fifth Generation) and they are the i5 and i7 processors which are probably the best you can find
  • It has ultra fast SSD storage that has blazing speeds while reading and writing.
  • One of the cons of the MacBook Air is its display. It is not even "Retina" as Apple provides in other iDevices. So, you can find missing sharpness while doing several tasks
  • It also has the Wireless AC connectivity that is about 3x faster than the previous generation Wireless N
  • Although it is powerful it is not as bulky as the Pro model and it is light ,as they say it, as  "Air"
  • It can handle pretty processor power demanding tasks like photo and video editing
  • It is the cheapest of all the MacBook versions

Macbook Pro

  • It is mostly recommended for Tech enthusiasts ,Architecutral Designers, Video editers and tasks that require heavy rendering such as in 3D
  • The Macbook Pro as they say it, it is for pro users
  • It does cost way more than the other MacBooks
  • The New MacBooks even come with a TouchBar. This opens doors for even more functionalities than the function keys that provide only a few preset options
  • It also has the craved TouchID. So everytime you want to login into your MacBook you don't have to key in your passcode everytime
  • It has a retina display unlike the MacBook Air. So, everything you see is sharp and clear
  • It has Top Tier processors that can handle pretty much everything that you can think of doing in a laptop computer.
  • It also has TurboBoost Technology that can increase the processor power when doing heavy tasks
  • All these come for a price. It costs way more than for what it offers
  • The MacBook Pro also like the MacBook can last you upto 10 Hours as Apple claims
